Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Sergey Burenkov (ranked 1362 p4p, 164 weight class) and Shoju Bayushi (ranked 297 p4p, 40 weight class). Bayushi comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Scorpions - Always Somewhere kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shoju Bayushi!
The judges for this bout are Jack Bonds, Timothy Bukovac and Don Winkell.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bayushi throws out a loose jab but Burenkov uses good head movement to avoid it.
Burenkov gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Bayushi counters with a lovely straight right hand!

It looks like Sergey Burenkov has been cut.
Bayushi has been spending a lot of time sparring his boxing in the run up to the fight, trying to sharpen up those hands and look for a knockout.
Burenkov shoots in and drives through. Bayushi sprawls well.
Bayushi is clearly trying to counter these attacks from Burenkov with a body shot.
Sergey Burenkov seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bayushi. Burenkov does a little dance to reset his feet.
A jab lands there for Burenkov.

Burenkov takes a shot to the body in his stride.
Burenkov slips in close and lands a nice hook before moving back out of range.
Bayushi lands a nice hook to Burenkov's body. Burenkov takes it in his stride and looks to land his own strikes.
Burenkov swings for the body but Bayushi moves out of range.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Burenkov drives through with a takedown into guard.

Bayushi manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Burenkov is rocked!
Burenkov leaves his chin hanging out and Bayushi seizes the opportunity with an uppercut! Burenkov crumbles to the floor in a heap! The referee steps in and tends to the downed fighter! What a knockout!
