Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Luke Neil (ranked 3812 p4p, 348 weight class) and Carl Bosa (ranked 3781 p4p, 345 weight class). Neil's entrance music is Linkin Park - In the end. A fine choice. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Luke Neil!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of New York, Carl Bosa!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Dean Styles and Jonathan Paton.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bosa dives in and grabs Neil's left leg, looking for a takedown. Neil pushes down on Bosa's head and hops out.
Horrible takedown attempt by Bosa or perhaps it was just good defense by Neil, which made it look bad.
It looked like Neil wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Bosa misses with a combination
and Neil connects with a straight left hand counter down the middle.
Bosa keeping his hands up high there, blocking the jab from Neil.
Neil misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Bosa.
Bosa unleashes a big counter combination but Neil bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Neil fakes and then throws a beautiful body shot. Bosa looks a bit winded and takes a step backwards to take a breath.
Bosa shoots in and drives through. Neil sprawls well.
Luke Neil has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Carl Bosa.
Bosa uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Neil.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Neil throws a right and a left that Bosa avoids nicely.

A nice side step and Bosa releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Neil seems to be moving with more speed, compared to his last bout. He must have been working on that in the gym.
Neil just misses with a punch to the body.
Bosa throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Bosa ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Neil moves away.
A little feinted left hand from Neil on the counter but he doesn't commit to it.
Neil dips to his left and cracks Bosa with an uppercut!

Neil throws a hook but Bosa avoids it easily.

A nice side step and Bosa releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.
Bosa darts in looking for a takedown but Neil gets double underhooks and turns Bosa into the cage.

Neil keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.

Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!

Luke Neil is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Bosa fakes a head shot and lands one to the body.
Bosa fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Neil avoids it really well and circles away.
Neil swung with a counter punch to the body but it didn't connect.
Bosa stooping low to avoid any incoming strikes and then lunges in with an uppercut come cross that lands flush.

Neil is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Bosa.

Bosa goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.


It looks like Luke Neil has been cut.
Bosa misses with a telegraphed body shot
and Neil counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
Neil misses with an uppercut.
Neil leaves Bosa with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

and Bosa takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Neil misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Both these guys seem content to just stand up and trade with eachother but Bosa might want to think about changing up his gameplan a bit because over the course of the fight, Neil has got the better of the exchanges.

Bosa closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Bosa lands in his opponent's guard.
Bosa wants to control from the top but Neil keeps moving.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Bosa might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Neil haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.
Bosa missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Bosa prevents Neil from getting back to his feet.
Bosa trying to control the position from guard on top but Neil is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We may be looking at a referee standup if the pace doesn't pick up soon.

The referee has stepped in and called for a break in the action. We'll restart on the feet.

Neil looks to score with a jab to the body but Bosa is just out of range.
Bosa uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Neil has time to react.
Bosa darts in looking for a takedown but Neil gets double underhooks and turns Bosa into the cage.
Neil misses with a wild combination.
Bosa misses with a few strikes there.
Bosa lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Neil backs up against the cage.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Carl Bosa showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. The crowd applaud as we get ready to start the final round!

Bosa lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Bosa looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.
Neil is looking to counter with a shot to the body.
Bosa tries to score a power double leg takedown but Neil sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Bosa somewhat.

Neil throws a jab but it's blocked by Bosa.
Bosa has been working his punching technique in the buildup to the fight and it appears to be paying off.

Bosa lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.

Bosa throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Neil stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Neil keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.

Bosa lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Bosa.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Luke Neil.
I think Neil has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
