The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Akerson takes the fight into the clinch.
A right hook to the body lands for Carter.
Carter struggles to land a body shot inside as Akerson controls his hands.
A short uppercut from Carter.
Carter is trying to slow down the pace of the fight but Akerson is keeping busy.

Akerson jumps into guard, dragging Carter to the mat.
Akerson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Akerson wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
