Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Morgan Hed (ranked 3829 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jake Mullen (ranked 7493 p4p, 0 weight class). Both these guys have really solid chins. Will we see a standup war or will they both decide that a knockout is unlikely and try to win the fight elsewhere?

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Morgan Hed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jake Mullen!
The judges for this bout are Micheangelo Fripello, Paul Gruel and Colin Fray.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A head kick from Hed lands but Mullen takes it in his stride.
It looks like Jake Mullen has been cut.
Hed definitely looks more muscular than last time we saw him fight.
Mullen misses with a head kick.
Hed quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.
Hed closes the distance and pushes Mullen back into the cage.
Hed's corner are urging him to control the action in the clinch for a moment, rather than mount any serious offense. I'm sure the crowd appreciate those instructions... not.
Hed dictating the pace here, as the fighters clinch against the cage.
Hed breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Mullen tries to score a power double leg takedown but Hed sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Mullen somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Hed connects with a superb combination that knocks Mullen out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Hed before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Mullen!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:52 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Morgan Hed!
