The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

McCaffrey changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Valkanov looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
McCaffrey lands a few punches from side control.
Valkanov is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but McCaffrey has just dragged him back down to the mat.

Valkanov takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Valkanov is working hard to escape and get back to his feet. After a battle for position, McCaffrey asserts his dominance and retains side control.

Valkanov is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but McCaffrey has just dragged him back down to the mat.
McCaffrey knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Valkanov on the ground.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Valkanov is not in a great position here, taking some shots.
Valkanov pushes McCaffrey away and creates a bit of space to escape. He's almost out here... but no, McCaffrey gets a good hold of his legs and remains firmly in side control.
