Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Trent Lynch (ranked 23884 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jesse Pinkman (ranked 7046 p4p, 0 weight class). Jesse Pinkman is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Trent Lynch!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jesse Pinkman!
The judges for this bout are Ryoma Takatsuka, Josh West and Chris Saunders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Pinkman misses with a kick to the body.
Pinkman throws a head kick but Lynch moves out of range.
Lynch is looking for a counter combo.

We can't be sure of the tactics at this early stage but we have heard that Pinkman has been working on his takedowns a lot in the buildup to the fight and we can only assume he's going to look to take this to the mat.

Lynch fires out a quick counter leg kick but Pinkman just manages to avoid it.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Lynch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pinkman pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Pinkman misses with a low kick as Lynch jumps back.

Pinkman tries to land a front kick but Lynch steps back. That was a bit too telegraphed.

Lynch fires out a quick counter leg kick but Pinkman just manages to avoid it.

Lynch throws a leg kick but Pinkman sees it coming and checks it nicely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Pinkman.
Pinkman tries to land knees in the clinch but Lynch avoids the damage to the body.

Lynch is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Pinkman can't fight it off and eventually Lynch manages to take the fight to the floor. Pinkman looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Lynch gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

Pinkman gets tackled into the cage by Lynch. Lynch maintains the clinch.
Lynch blocks an elbow strike from Pinkman.

Lynch breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Pinkman lands with a slapping head kick.
Pinkman fakes the leg kick and cracks Lynch in the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Pinkman misses the jab.

Lynch rushes Pinkman and presses him up against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jesse Pinkman dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Lynch takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.

and Lynch counters with a three punch combination, finished off with a leg kick. Nice work.

and Lynch counters with a slapping leg kick.

Trent Lynch is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Lynch uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Pinkman.

Lynch closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Pinkman is looking to reverse the position.

Lynch lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Pinkman down.

You can see the frustration on Pinkman's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Lynch is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Pinkman knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Lynch is looking for a kimura but Pinkman is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Lynch to get the leverage.

With the fighters up against the cage, Pinkman throws an elbow but misses.

Lynch gets control of Pinkman's arms and successfully pulls guard. Lynch will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Pinkman drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Lynch dives on top into guard.


Lynch got a little sloppy there for a moment and Pinkman has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Lynch has managed to get both his arms back between Pinkman's legs - danger averted.
