Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Lindsey Hoover (ranked 23216 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gabriel Souza (ranked 4749 p4p, 0 weight class). Gabriel Souza will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Souza moves into the clinch successfully.
Hoover working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.

Hoover lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Hoover trying to control the action but Souza is working from the bottom.
Hoover is really struggling to control Souza but he's trying to hold on to the position.
Hoover not doing much here.
Souza tries to get to full guard but Hoover has control of the leg.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hoover stalling away here and it's allowed Souza to slip out his trapped foot and regain full guard.
Hoover seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hoover is looking to clinch but Souza is avoiding it.
Souza looks like he wants to counter punch here.

Hoover rushes Souza and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Hoover could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Souza wants to pass the guard but Hoover is keeping the position.
Souza looking to sit in guard and control but Hoover gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Hoover slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Souza working for a triangle but Hoover defends it easily.

Souza is looking to cinch up a triangle. Hoover throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Souza's body to avoid the submission. Souza has instead reached around Hoover's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Souza arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.
