Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Robertino Hunter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Zach Hockert (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Robertino Hunter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Zach Hockert!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Hockert scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Hunter might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Hockert lands an elbow.

Hockert decides to stand back up. Hockert steps back and let's Hunter get back to his feet.

Hunter shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.
Hockert regains half guard.
Hockert is controlling Hunter's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Hockert's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Hunter wants to pass the guard but Hockert is defending well.
Hunter wants to control but Hockert is keeping him busy.

Hunter thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.

Hunter is working for a kimura but Hockert is defending it quite comfortably.
Hockert is trying to maintain the position but Hunter is very close to passing his half guard.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.

Hockert closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Hunter is looking for a sweep.

Hockert tries to advance to mount but can't.
Hunter is trying to control Hockert's posture but Hockert avoids it.
Hunter is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Hockert wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Hunter, who protects the arm well.
Hunter tries to slip a leg under to move to half guard but Hockert presses down on the leg and jumps into full mount!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Hunter manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Hunter is trying to control but can't.

The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!

Hunter has an active guard here but Hockert has managed to pass into half guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

and Hockert counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hunter won't be happy with that.

Hockert cracks Hunter with a big elbow.

Hockert is trying to get an arm triangle but Hunter is defending well.

Hockert has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.

Hunter fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Hockert sprawls well initially but Hunter persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.
Hockert slows down the pace of the fight, as he sits in guard.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.
Hunter gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily

and Hockert counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hunter won't be happy with that.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Zach Hockert showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. And we move into the final round!



Hockert drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Hunter tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Hockert wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Hockert is putting a hurting on Hunter here, landing some big shots from side control.

Hunter is trying to control Hockert's posture but Hockert avoids it.

Hockert decides to stand back up. Hockert steps back and let's Hunter get back to his feet.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

Hockert shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Hockert showed some decent athleticism there.

Hunter wants to improve his position but Hockert is controlling well.
Hunter is looking to control Hockert's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Hunter avoid being mounted?

Hunter closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Hockert to the mat! Hockert manages to get full guard.

Hunter drops back looking for a heel hook - he quickly realises he's not going to get it but Hockert manages to dive on top of him before he can escape and now Hunter has Hockert in his guard.
Hockert pushes down on Hunter's leg and manages to get into half guard.

Ground and pound from Hockert.
Hunter misses with some strikes from the bottom.
Hockert seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Hunter does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Hunter has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Hockert is working away from the top position though.

Hunter tries to strike from the bottom but it doesn't land.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hockert is thwarting Hunter's attempts to control the position.

Hunter shoots in but no luck this time.
Hockert lets the fists fly and connects with a left straight followed by a right hook.

and Hockert decides to take the opportunity to score a takedown. He's landed in Hunter's guard.

Well Hockert has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
