PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Don Corleon (ranked 4813 p4p, 202 weight class) and Ichi Yakuza (ranked 13769 p4p, 0 weight class). Corleon comes to the cage accompanied by Big Iron- Marty Robbins. Yakuza has chosen The Legend of Zelda, Overworld as his entrance music. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Corleon feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Yakuza is working an open guard so Corleon takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.

Yakuza shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Corleon sprawls well. Corleon wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Yakuza gets slowly back to his feet.

Corleon went nuts there looking for a big combo counter but none of the flurry connected.

Yakuza dives in and grabs Corleon's left leg, looking for a takedown. Corleon pushes down on Yakuza's head and hops out.
We've been informed that Yakuza has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Don Corleon overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Corleon scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Yakuza doesn't seem bothered though.
Corleon finds nothing but air with that leg kick attempt.

Yakuza tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Corleon defends well and Yakuza ends up having to push Corleon into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

Corleon throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Yakuza tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Corleon is in Yakuza's guard.

Yakuza drops his hands momentarily and Corleon needs no second invitation. He sets himself and throws a perfect high kick, that clips Yakuza just on the top of the head. Yakuza drops like a sack of potatoes to the canvas, out cold! Oooooooh yeah! Stick a fork in Yakuza - he's done!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:26 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Head Kick). Don Corleon!
In his post fight interview, Don Corleon started talking himself up. Luckily his charisma kept the crowd on side and gave him a good reception.
The defeated Ichi Yakuza had this to say: 'This has not been honorable. Seppuku!'.
