Gutierrez has chosen Chance The Rapper - Fuck You Tahm About as his entrance music. Alexis Tucker has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alexis Tucker!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Alex Gutierrez!
The judges for this bout are John Mangel, Winston Howard and Hugh Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Gutierrez clinches up with Tucker and pushes him back against the cage.
Gutierrez gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Tucker.
Gutierrez misses the knee to the body. Nice hip positioning from Tucker.
Good anti-grappling being displayed by Gutierrez as Tucker tries to tie him up.

Gutierrez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Gutierrez controlling the position.

Tucker is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Gutierrez is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Gutierrez has escaped and now he's on top!

Gutierrez has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Tucker is proving hard to escape from.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tucker gets caught napping as Gutierrez dives in and scores a takedown. Tucker manages to retain guard.
Tucker wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Gutierrez looking to sit in guard and control but Tucker gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Tucker avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Gutierrez is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
Tucker really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tucker got a little sloppy there for a moment and Gutierrez has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tucker has managed to get both his arms back between Gutierrez's legs - danger averted.

Tucker thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Tucker lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Gutierrez is trying to keep Tucker in close.
Tucker trying to control but Gutierrez is working from the bottom.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.

Gutierrez uses the cage to get back to his feet.

Tucker tries to sprawl but Gutierrez drives through with a takedown into half guard.

Gutierrez is thinking about going for an arm triangle but he can't free his leg.
Tucker is controlling Gutierrez's position as best he can from this difficult position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Tucker works his way to full guard. Good work.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Gutierrez throws a sloppy head kick and Tucker moves out of range easily.
Tucker takes a shot right to the liver - Bas would have been proud of that punch.
Alexis Tucker is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Gutierrez throws a head kick that misses.

Gutierrez closes the distance and clinches.
Gutierrez is stalling here.

Gutierrez breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Alex Gutierrez seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Tucker drops down looking for an ankle pick but Gutierrez pulls his leg out and moves away.

Gutierrez feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.
Tucker is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Gutierrez dives into side control.

Tucker sneaks back into half guard.
Gutierrez is trying to control the action in half guard but Tucker is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
Gutierrez has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Gutierrez decides to stand up.

Gutierrez gets a double leg takedown into Tucker's guard.

Tucker pulls Gutierrez in to control the position.
Gutierrez wants to stand and escape but instead Tucker has hit a sweep and he's now on top in guard.

Gutierrez wants to stand up but Tucker is controlling him.
Tucker engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
Gutierrez is looking to sweep but instead, Tucker has passed into half guard.

Tucker is trying to work for a kimura. This could be trouble! No, Gutierrez has managed to free his arm - good work.
Gutierrez looks like he's trying to stand up.

Tucker seems to be working for a kimura but Gutierrez defends the submission attempt.
Gutierrez trying to control here but he's found himself mounted! Oh no!

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Gutierrez sneaks a leg back under and regains half guard and is working straight away to try and get back to guard. He hasn't managed just yet though.

Tucker seems to be working for a kimura but Gutierrez defends the submission attempt.
Gutierrez trying to get back to full guard but Tucker takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tucker looking to control but Gutierrez is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Alex Gutierrez showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. This is the final round!


Gutierrez throws a series of punches but Tucker avoids them all with ease.
Tucker closes the distance and clinches up with Gutierrez, looking for a takedown. Tucker pushes Gutierrez against the cage but Gutierrez circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Tucker gets tackled into the cage by Gutierrez. Gutierrez maintains the clinch.
An uppercut to the body lands inside from Gutierrez.

Gutierrez escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Tucker is trying hard to land a takedown here. Gutierrez sprawls well and keeps this one on the feet.
Gutierrez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Tucker.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Alexis Tucker. That's going to take a lot out of him.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Gutierrez pulls out of a head kick attempt.
As Gutierrez looks to move away, Tucker throws a big counter combo but Gutierrez just gets out of the way.
Gutierrez wants to land a leg kick but Tucker is out of range.
Tucker shoots in looking for a takedown but Gutierrez manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Tucker's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Gutierrez shoots in and bounces Tucker off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Tucker has scooted to the edge of the canvas and used the cage to get back to his feet. Gutierrez has stuck on his opponent and is forcing him back against the cage.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Tucker is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Gutierrez gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
Tucker goes for a body shot but it's blocked.

Gutierrez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
Gutierrez is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Gutierrez wants to control but Tucker passes easily into half guard.

Gutierrez trying to control from the bottom.
Tucker working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Tucker scores with a couple of good hammerfists.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Tucker lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Tucker passes into side control, despite Gutierrez's attempt to control the position.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Gutierrez is looking to regain half guard here but Tucker keeps moving and retains side control.
Tucker will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Tucker wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Gutierrez, who protects the arm well.
Gutierrez gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Tucker is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Tucker not throwing his punches with enough precision this time.
Gutierrez is trying to stand up here but Tucker is controlling him well.
Tucker passes the guard and advances to mount!
The referee warns Gutierrez that he has to improve his position here as he takes two more clean shots to the head.
Gutierrez wants to get back to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Tucker jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Gutierrez manages to avoid the submission attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Alexis Tucker.
I think Gutierrez has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
