Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Ichiro Suzuki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Reece Daniels!
The judges for this bout are Shigeki Fujiwara, Hirohito Nitta and Kenichi Hosakawa.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Suzuki with a lazy takedown attempt
and Daniels counters with a straight right hand.
Suzuki shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Daniels but Daniels pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Daniels chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Daniels lands with a straight right. Suzuki didn't see that one coming.
Daniels connects with a single shot there.

Suzuki shoots in and gets a takedown into Daniels's guard.
Suzuki seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Suzuki is trying to stand up but he's being controlled by his opponent.

Suzuki can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Daniels is looking to escape.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Daniels can do anything to dispel that myth.

Suzuki with some aggressive grappling here. He's looking for submissions here, rather than waiting for the opportunity to counter.

Daniels stops Suzuki from taking his back. Still, being mounted isn't any better.

Suzuki has control of Daniels's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Daniels regains control of the situation pretty easily.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

You know, I was talking to some of our celebrities at ringside tonight and they were split right down the middle on who was going to win this fight.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Suzuki throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Daniels's waist but Daniels gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Suzuki off to one side.
Ichiro Suzuki is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Daniels is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Suzuki fails with the takedown
and Daniels counters with a nice uppercut.
Daniels bobs and weaves and then throws a good body kick.
Suzuki doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.
Daniels defends well against a solid takedown attempt from Suzuki.

Suzuki shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Daniels pinned against the cage. Daniels gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Suzuki closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Daniels's guard.

Suzuki thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Daniels wants to stand up but Suzuki is controlling him.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Suzuki drops back for a leg here. A bit of a high risk move... He's looking for a kneebar by the looks of things. Now both of them are looking for submissions. Suzuki seems to have locked his on tight now - Daniels screams in pain and taps out furiously! It certainly was a high risk move but it's paid off for Suzuki, as he picks up the win!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:32 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kneebar). Ichiro Suzuki!
