PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Atlas Metaxas (ranked 5152 p4p, 460 weight class) and David Wuzz (ranked 2032 p4p, 247 weight class). Metaxas comes to the cage accompanied by Richard Humpty Vission-Superstar . Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 11 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Atlas Metaxas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 30 - 22 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, David Wuzz!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Saam Ante and Daniel Blasius.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Wuzz smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Metaxas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Wuzz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Metaxas moves away.
Wuzz dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Wuzz swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Wuzz misses with an uppercut. Metaxas saw that one coming.
Wuzz moves in looking to clinch but Metaxas pushes him off.
Metaxas throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Wuzz checks a low kick from Metaxas.
Wuzz uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Metaxas.
Wuzz tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Wuzz slips a straight right by Metaxas.
Wuzz smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Wuzz uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Metaxas has time to react.

Wuzz got a little sloppy there for a moment and Metaxas has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Wuzz has managed to get both his arms back between Metaxas's legs - danger averted.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wuzz is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Metaxas defends it well.
Wuzz is keen to just control but Metaxas is a slippery customer.
Wuzz might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Metaxas haven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Wuzz drops back looking for a leg! Metaxas is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Metaxas manages to kick Wuzz off! Wuzz jumps back into Metaxas's guard.

Let's hope that Wuzz has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Wuzz looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
It looked like Metaxas wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Metaxas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.
Wuzz ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Metaxas moves away.
Metaxas throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Wuzz is throwing a lot of body shots here, looking to wear down Metaxas rather than just go for the knockout.

That was a close round but I would say that Atlas Metaxas will probably get the nod.

Wuzz is trying to avoid his opponent's strikes and get into the clinch.
Metaxas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Wuzz.

The fighters circle momentarily. Wuzz darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.

Metaxas drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Metaxas jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Atlas Metaxas will probably get the nod.
That's time! Back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.
