Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Solomon Holman (ranked 5281 p4p, 0 weight class) and Geogre Tyson (ranked 4644 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Holman fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Tyson avoids it really well and circles away.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tyson stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Holman to get to his feet.
Holman takes a nice looking leg kick right on the meat of his thigh there.

Tyson feints and then dives in with a takedown. That was a long way out but the feint bought him enough time to close the distance and complete the takedown. Now we'll play guard for a bit and see who can get the better of that position.

Holman has butterfly guard. He's looking to stand up here. He pushes Tyson off him and springs to his feet nicely. The crowd applauds.
Holman really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Holman is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Holman ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Holman no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Tyson shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Holman napping and manages to drive through into side control!

That was a close round but I would say that Solomon Holman will probably get the nod.

Tyson stuffs a takedown. It's all about dictating where the fight takes place and Tyson wants it to stay on the feet.
Tyson throws a body kick that sends a sickening thudding noise reverberating around the arena.
Holman shoots in but Tyson avoids the takedown attempt easily.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tyson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Holman doesn't seem bothered though.

Tyson manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Holman pushes Tyson off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.
Holman shoots in looking for a takedown but Tyson manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Holman's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

Holman goes for a double leg but Tyson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tyson continues to drive forward.

Holman has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Tyson is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Solomon Holman.
