The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Berrio takes the fight into the clinch.
Cross is working for takedown but Berrio is calmly controlling the position for now.

Berrio escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Berrio throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Cross tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Berrio is in Cross's guard.
Berrio missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Berrio lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Berrio is stalling in the full guard.

Berrio has gone for a leg lock! Cross slips out almost immediately though and dives into Berrio's guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Berrio controls Cross momentarily but Cross frees himself.

Cross postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.

Berrio escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Cross gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cross working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.
Cross might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Berrio is looking to stand up but Cross isn't so interested in that idea.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Berrio throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Cross escapes and throws Berrio's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Berrio on the wrong end of some ground and pound.
Berrio really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Cross. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

Cross tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Cross has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Berrio tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Berrio is working to avoid the ground and pound but Cross connects with a decent elbow.

Cross working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Cross goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Berrio has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Cross but great work by Berrio.

Cross has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Cross is breathing heavily.

Berrio is trying to get an arm triangle but Cross is defending well.

Berrio stands up and beckons Cross to his feet.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Berrio shoots in for a takedown and gets it.

Cross manages to escape and get back to his feet!

Cross is refusing to be controlled, as Berrio sits in half guard.
Berrio looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Cross with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Berrio is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

Berrio stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Cross to get to his feet.

Cross throws Berrio to one side and escapes!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Cross enables Berrio to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Cross manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Berrio wants to control from the top but Cross keeps moving.

Cross looking for subs off his back but Berrio has passed one foot through into half guard.
Cross tries to get to full guard but Berrio has control of the leg.

Berrio is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Cross is just riding it out for now. Berrio eventually gives up the hold.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Berrio lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Berrio keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Uraya Berrio has got the better of the ground game so far.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Berrio connects with a nice short shot to Cross's temple.

Berrio decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cross shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Berrio defends it nicely.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Uraya Berrio showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Berrio tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Cross paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Oh Cross is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Berrio sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Cross's guard.
Berrio scores with a big shot! Cross's head bounced off the canvas with a huge thud! More strikes land and the referee has jumped in to save Cross! He was hurt real bad - good stoppage!
