The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Lucas shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Rampage sprawls well. Rampage wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Lucas gets slowly back to his feet.
Lucas lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Lucas.
Lucas dives in for a single leg takedown but Rampage sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Lucas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Rampage circles away quickly and effectively.
Horrible takedown attempt by Lucas or perhaps it was just good defense by Rampage, which made it look bad.
Lewis Rampage has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Steve Lucas.

We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

It looks like Lucas might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.

Lucas postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.

Lucas is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Rampage looks calm but he's in trouble here. Lucas gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Rampage is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Lucas lets go of the hold and Rampage can pop his arm back in it's socket.
