Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Abul Khayr Belabed (ranked 3844 p4p, 394 weight class) and Kwon Woo Lee (ranked 24325 p4p, 554 weight class). Buckle up people - heeeeeeeeeere we go!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
5 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Abul Khayr Belabed!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
4 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Kwon Woo Lee!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Paul Aken and Saam Ante.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Belabed shoots in for a takedown but Lee shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Lee throws a body kick that digs right into the meat.
Lee fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Belabed sprawls well initially but Lee persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Lee wants to lay and pray for a moment but Belabed keeps working.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Belabed is looking for a sweep. Lee is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Belabed is trying to maintain the position but Lee is very close to passing his half guard.
Lee misses with a head shot. Belabed uses the momentum to regain guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Lee looking to sit in guard and control but Belabed gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Lee wants to improve his position but instead Belabed has moved into half guard.
Lee is trying to defend against the ground and pound but Belabed scores with a couple of nice shots.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Belabed is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Lee sees it coming and defends easily.
Lee looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Lee is trying to control but Belabed manages to pass to mount!
Belabed controlling the position easily from mount.

Lee tries to lock up and control but Belabed gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.
Belabed controlling from the full mount.
Belabed can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Lee is looking to escape.

Lee bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!
Belabed bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Lee's guard.
Belabed wants to stand but Lee is controlling his posture from full guard.
Lee pulls Belabed in close to prevent any damage.

Belabed throws a big elbow that misses.
Lee escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Belabed gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.
Belabed controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Lee is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
Lee is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Belabed is aware though and is defending well.
That's five minutes gone in the round.
Belabed sitting in guard, not really doing much.

The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.
Belabed passes easily into side control. Nice work.
Belabed has knee on belly and now moves to full mount! Trouble for Lee!

Belabed looking to control but Lee is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

We've been hearing that Belabed has been drilling a lot of ground and pound in training, so let's see if he get the finish.
Belabed jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Lee manages to avoid the submission attempt.
Lee is trying to get back to his feet.
That's seven minutes gone in the round.
Lee is moving his hips around well on the bottom and has managed to get back to half guard.
Lee wants to get back to full guard.
The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Belabed darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Lee kicks Belabed off and gets back to his feet.

Belabed scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Lee looks to move to half guard but instead Belabed has passed into mount! Damn!
Belabed manages to capitalize on a mistake by Lee to take his back!
Lee trying to control the hands but Belabed breaks the grip.
You can see the frustration on Lee's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Belabed has both hooks in and is working for a choke. Lee is in real trouble here. Belabed gets an arm under the chin and tightens the submission attempt... is this the end? Yes, Lee is tapping out! Belabed wins by rear naked choke!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 8:57 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Abul Khayr Belabed!
A relieved looking Abul Khayr Belabed thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
