PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Peter Stringer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Roy Mayorga (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Stringer comes to the cage accompanied by Cherokee - Europe. Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Stringer shoots in looking for a takedown. Mayorga tries to sprawl out of it but Stringer keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mayorga manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

That was a close round but I would say that Peter Stringer will probably get the nod.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!

Stringer has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Mayorga can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Mayorga drops back for a leg! It's a sloppy attempt though and Mayorga jumps back into guard quickly, to retain the dominant position.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Stringer is on top in guard.
Stringer stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Mayorga swivels though and keeps the full guard.

That was a close round. You could make an argument for either fighter but I would give it to Peter Stringer.
I think Stringer has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
