The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tyson tries to keep at a distance but Smith has taken the fight into the clinch.

Tyson has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Smith uses from the top position.

Tyson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Smith chopping away at his opponent's legs.
Smith shoots in but Tyson avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Tyson throws a counter high kick but Smith was just alert enough to avoid it.
Tyson shoots in for a double leg but Smith sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Tyson moves out of range of the body kick from Smith.
It looked like Tyson was looking amped, ready to throw a big counter but didn't commit.
Smith fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Tyson manages to avoid it.
As Smith tries to get set, Tyson tries to push him back and clinch up but Smith manages to avoid the attempt.
Smith has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Smith goes for a double leg but Tyson avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Tyson continues to drive forward.

Smith is breathing heavily.

Smith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Tyson, pushing him back against the cage.
Tyson tries to pull guard but Smith won't allow it.

Smith wriggles free and stands up.
Smith ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Tyson moves away.
Smith tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Tyson is looking to counter the offense by Smith and move into the clinch.
Smith fails with a takedown attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Smith darts in and clinches Tyson up against the cage.
