Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Sydney Tate (ranked 4859 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ruben Mandore (ranked 7259 p4p, 0 weight class). There are an array of beautiful celebrities at ringside tonight! I wonder if any of them paid for their tickets.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, Sydney Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Ruben Mandore!
The judges for this bout are Chris Edwards, Donald Grub and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tate clinches.

Mandore gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Tate moves into full guard.
Mandore really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Tate. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Tate manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Mandore manages to get himself to full guard.

Tate landing some decent shots from guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Tate got a little sloppy there for a moment and Mandore has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tate has managed to get both his arms back between Mandore's legs - danger averted.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Mandore can do anything to dispel that myth.
Tate scoring with punches to the head and body.
Mandore utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.
Mandore working the defensive guard well to avoid strikes from Tate.
Tate is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.
Tate throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Tate is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Tate works over Mandore with some ground and pound from guard.
Tate postures up and lands a big shot to Mandore's brow.
Tate lands a couple of digs.
Mandore looks winded!
Tate chips away with some ground and pound.

Tate stands and steps away. Mandore gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
Tate misses with a jab, cross combination.
Tate shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Mandore defends it nicely.
Mandore tries to clinch there but Tate circles away.

Mandore shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Tate is on top in guard.

Tate controls from within his opponent's guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Tate landing with the ground and pound.
Tate has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Tate landing some decent shots from guard.
Tate distracts Mandore with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Tate with a nice head shot there.
Tate scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Tate makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Tate's corner is telling him to maintain position.
Tate is working Mandore over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.
Tate slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Tate decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Mandore, up you get!

Tate fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Mandore, pushing him back against the cage.
Tate will no doubt start fighting again in a minute but for now he's just having a little rest, leaning Mandore up against the cage.

Tate breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Tate gets in close and instigates a clinch.

Tate jumps guard and drags Mandore to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Mandore avoids a guillotine attempt easily.

Tate manages to escape and get back to his feet.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Tate pushes Mandore up against the cage in a clinch.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Tate pulls guard.
Tate will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Tate manages to wriggle out and sneak his way back up to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched up against the cage.

Tate breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Mandore fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Tate to the ground. Mandore is now in Tate's guard.

Tate pushes Mandore off and scrambles back to his feet.
Mandore should think about turning a few of those tyres round his middle into muscle if he wants people to take him seriously as an athlete.

Tate takes the fight into the clinch.

Tate pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Mandore throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Sydney Tate dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Mandore throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Tate lands a head kick. Mandore smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
Mandore tries to clinch there but Tate circles away.
Mandore wants to clinch up but Tate keeps it at a distance.

Tate looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Mandore!


Mandore is rocked!
Tate in side control lands a nice looking series of punches and elbows.
Mandore is still in real trouble! Can Tate finish him?
Tate cracks Mandore with a big right hand but Mandore just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Mandore is trying to escape the position but Tate is controlling the position.
Mandore takes a big shot right to the temple there but he's taken it well.
Tate lands a strong strike to the head of Mandore. That's dazed him! Tate looking to finish here. Mandore is waving his arms around trying to block but he's hurt badly - Tate lands more strikes and the referee steps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:48 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Sydney Tate!
