The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Pitbull shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Bass is trying to defend but Pitbull finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.

Bass lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Pitbull shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Bass's guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Bass manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

There's a bit of a scramble here and now Bass is on top in guard.

Pitbull is breathing heavily.
Pitbull has momentary wrist control but Bass slips an elbow through the middle.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Bass postures up and scores with a shot to the body and a follow up elbow to the head.
Pitbull is wriggling around but Bass manages to pass to half guard.

Bass decides he's had enough of the ground and stands up.
Bass throws a head kick but Pitbull moves out of range.

Bass seems keen to control Pitbull's posture.
Bass really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Bass has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.
