Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Cormac Mac Airt (ranked 874 p4p, 112 weight class) and Bessarion Alexius (ranked 308 p4p, 46 weight class). Mac Airt comes to the cage accompanied by Wolf Blood. Alexius has chosen A Country Boy Can Survive as his entrance music. I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Alexius throws a sloppy head kick
and Mac Airt counters with a stiff right hand.
Alexius blocks a jab.

Alexius takes the fight into the clinch.
Mac Airt misses with some punches.
Mac Airt digs a right hand into Alexius's ribs. Those have got to be taking their toll on Alexius's gas tank.
We've been informed that Alexius has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.
Mac Airt throws a punch but it's blocked by Alexius.

Alexius escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Alexius's hands are dropping dangerously low here and Mac Airt connects clean with a right hook that sends him down to one knee! Alexius scrambles back to his feet.
Alexius bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.

Alexius gets tackled into the cage by Mac Airt. Mac Airt maintains the clinch.

Mac Airt throws a punch but it's blocked by Alexius.

Mac Airt's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.

Alexius breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.

Mac Airt misses with a hook. Alexius ducked under it nicely.
Alexius cracks Mac Airt with a hook to the jaw. Both fighters smile at eachother and high-five before getting back down to business.

Mac Airt lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Mac Airt throws a hook but Alexius avoids it easily.
Alexius steps in looking to clinch after the strikes miss from Mac Airt.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Mac Airt lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Alexius is still on wobbly legs! Can Mac Airt finish him?
Mac Airt is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.

The fight stays on the outside here - Mac Airt looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Mac Airt lands hard precision jab right on the jaw that stiffens Alexius up and sends him tumbling to the mat! The ref grabs Mac Airt from behind before he can pounce. Some folks in the crowd didn't like that stoppage, but I saw Alexius's eyes roll way back in his head, he was done.

After winning the bout, Cormac Mac Airt thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
