Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Edward Alvarado (ranked 21494 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rick Tatum (ranked 4846 p4p, 154 weight class). I can't wait for this one - let's get the fighter introductions out of the way and get this one started!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tatum throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Alvarado was covering up waiting for the punch and Tatum finishes the takedown easily into guard.

Tatum got a little sloppy there for a moment and Alvarado has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Tatum has managed to get both his arms back between Alvarado's legs - danger averted.

Tatum gets to his feet - Alvarado follows without any prompting.
Rick Tatum seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tatum has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Alvarado finds it's way round the side to connect with Tatum's head.
Tatum tries to close the distance and clinch but Alvarado swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Tatum closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Tatum lands in his opponent's guard.
Alvarado is wriggling around but Tatum manages to pass to half guard.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Alvarado is not content to let Tatum control the position.
Alvarado is striking from the bottom but he's now found himself mounted! Oh dear - not enough focus on defense there.
Alvarado could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Alvarado is squirming around, avoiding Tatum's attempts to control the action.
A nice elbow there by Tatum.
Alvarado wants to use the cage to get back to his feet here.
