Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between John Auville (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerson Barnad (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Gerson Barnad told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Auville blocks a head kick by Barnad.
Barnad fails with a takedown attempt.

Barnad throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Auville seems to have a rather negative gameplan on the ground. He seems keen to just score the takedown and hold down Barnad for as long as he can get away with.

Gerson Barnad showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Auville won't let Barnad get back to his feet... He wants to keep the fight where it is for now.
Barnad is desperately trying to improve his position but Auville has a good base and remains in mount.
