The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Leone.
Saroth tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Leone paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Saroth shoots in looking for a takedown but Leone manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Saroth's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Leone keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Leone will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Jean Pierre Leone seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Leone changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Saroth tries to avoid it but Leone manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Saroth to the ground. Saroth escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Saroth lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Saroth throws a series of strikes that have Leone backpedaling.

It looks like Jean Pierre Leone has been cut.
Leone shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Saroth but Saroth pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Saroth wants to counter with a clinch but Leone pushes him away.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Saroth dives in for a single leg takedown but Leone sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Leone tries to keep at a distance but Saroth has taken the fight into the clinch.
Leone is looking for a takedown up against the cage. Saroth gets underhooks though and prevents the takedown attempt.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Leone drops down for a takedown but doesn't get it.

Saroth looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Leone is fending him off so far but Saroth persists. Nope, Leone circles away and we're back to standing.
Leone shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Saroth pinned against the cage. Saroth gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Saroth lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Saroth throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
Saroth shoots for a double leg takedown but Leone sprawls well. He's pushed Saroth's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

and Saroth cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.
Leone shoots in for a takedown but Saroth shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.

Saroth lands a big head kick that sends Leone tumbling to the mat! Saroth takes a step backwards and waves Leone back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Leone is rocked!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Saroth closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Leone to the mat! Leone manages to get full guard.
Oh Leone is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Saroth gets to his feet and stands over Leone, holding his ankles. He dives in with a big left hand that connects! Leone felt that one! Saroth unloads more punches and elbows and this one is over! The ref has dived in to save Leone from any more punishment!
