Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Aleksy Dzikowski (ranked 3717 p4p, 192 weight class) and Dangelo Vargas (ranked 4062 p4p, 201 weight class). Dangelo Vargas acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Aleksy Dzikowski!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Dangelo Vargas!
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, James Atkins and James Ackerman.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vargas smiles there as he lands a nice right hand right on the button.
Dzikowski has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Russian Bears Training Center in the buildup to the fight.
Vargas jabs Dzikowski to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Dzikowski tries to clinch but Vargas moves away
and Vargas counters nicely by changing levels and landing a hook to the body.
Vargas connects with a slap. Keep your fist closed son.

Dzikowski changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Vargas looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.
Vargas is not content to let Dzikowski control the position.
Dzikowski is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Vargas tries to buck Dzikowski off but Dzikowski is having none of it.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Vargas is trying to control Dzikowski's posture but Dzikowski avoids it.
Vargas is looking for a sweep.
Dzikowski wants to control but Vargas is keeping him busy.
Dzikowski tries to stand but Vargas is controlling his head.
Vargas tries to bench press Dzikowski off him but Dzikowski keeps the position.

Dzikowski tries for a kimura but Vargas is defending well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Vargas is trying to get back to half guard.
Vargas takes a nasty elbow to the side of the head.
You can see the frustration on Vargas's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Vargas looks to move to half guard but instead Dzikowski has passed into mount! Damn!
Dzikowski avoids the attempt from Vargas to control.
Vargas bucks up and manages to get a nice reversal! He's in guard on the top - nicely done!

Vargas is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Let's hope that Vargas has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

Vargas wants to work for an arm triangle but Dzikowski is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Vargas is trying to control the action in half guard but Dzikowski is working away on the bottom, looking perhaps to get back to full guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Dangelo Vargas will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Vargas is moving around nicely and scores here with a single head shot.

Dzikowski displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Vargas throws out the jab.
Vargas tests Dzikowski's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Vargas throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Dzikowski stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Aleksy Dzikowski overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Dzikowski postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
Vargas is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
Vargas has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Vargas ducks low and lands a nice hook to the body of his opponent.
Dangelo Vargas seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Dzikowski drives through with a takedown into Vargas's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Vargas is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.

Vargas is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Dangelo Vargas showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action. This is the final round!

Dzikowski shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Dzikowski was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Vargas wriggling around on the bottom manages to avoid the strikes thrown by Dzikowski.
Dzikowski is looking to stand but Vargas has his arms wrapped tightly around him, looking to prevent the damage.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.

Dzikowski is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Vargas can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Dzikowski is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Vargas is controlling him.

Vargas is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Dzikowski has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Dzikowski!

I would just about give that final round to Dangelo Vargas.
