Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Pat Elwood (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Dewanye Wallace (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Dewanye Wallace!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Elwood darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wallace is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Still in half guard, Elwood seems content to control.
Wallace slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Wallace looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

Wallace keeping busy on the bottom but Elwood has passed one foot through into half guard.

Elwood wants to take a breather but Wallace is having none of it.
Wallace makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Wallace.
Elwood might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.

Elwood slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Wallace working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Elwood doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Elwood manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.

Wallace is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Elwood feints and as Wallace raises his hands in defense, Elwood changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

Wallace looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Wallace wants to sweep but no luck.
Wallace keeping moving, preventing Elwood from controlling successfully.
Wallace not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Wallace is on top in guard.
Wallace wants to pass the guard but Elwood is keeping the position.

Dewanye Wallace comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Elwood has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
