PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Carmen Hines (ranked 24596 p4p, 0 weight class) and Max Clarke (ranked 4834 p4p, 0 weight class). I'm sure you'll be fascinated to know that I was talking to some pointless Z list celebrity before the fight and he thought that Max Clarke was going to win. Let's see if he was right.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 5 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Carmen Hines!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Max Clarke!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, William Peck and Ian Loll.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Clarke shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Hines as he avoids it easily.
Clarke scores with a hook to the body. Hines takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Clarke instigates a clinch.
Hines tries for a takedown. No joy.
Clarke prevents the takedown attempt.
Hines really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Hines lands a hook to the side of the head.
Clarke prevents a takedown attempt there.

Hines is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Clarke to keep the fight standing.

Max Clarke seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Hines drops down looking for an ankle pick but Clarke pulls his leg out and moves away.

Hines drives through and clinches with Clarke against the cage.

That was a close second round but I would say that Carmen Hines will probably get the nod.

Clarke has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Hines uses from the top position.
Hines engaging in some classic timewasting tactics.
A real slowdown in the pace of the fight for a moment, as Clarke holds on and takes a little breather.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Hines with a flurry of punches that miss.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Hines lands with a head kick! That's gotta hurt.
Carmen Hines is winning the standup battle so far.
Clarke shoots for a double leg takedown but Hines sprawls well. He's pushed Clarke's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Clarke is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Hines goes for a takedown in the clinch but Clarke prevents it.
Clarke gets underhooks to prevent Hines's takedown attempt.

And that's the end of the fight!
Carmen Hines showed his dominance in that final round.
