Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Carey Guthrie (ranked 4846 p4p, 0 weight class) and Errol Germonsen (ranked 6160 p4p, 0 weight class). Germonsen has a niggling injury. He would have liked to come in 100% fit but that's not always possible. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Guthrie dances in quickly and lands a nice inside leg kick on Germonsen. That did some damage!
Guthrie tries for a takedown but Germonsen sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Guthrie could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

Guthrie wants to get back to striking at distance but Germonsen won't allow it.

Germonsen fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Guthrie sprawls well initially but Germonsen persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Guthrie wants to get back to full guard.

Germonsen is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Guthrie is just riding it out for now. Germonsen eventually gives up the hold.

Germonsen is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Guthrie is trying to stand.
Guthrie wants to sweep but Germonsen has passed to side control!

Germonsen is in a dominant position here, looking for a kimura. Guthrie looks calm but he's in trouble here. Germonsen gets his leg over his opponent's head and yanks on the arm. Guthrie is tapping like a morse code operator on the titanic! SOS! SOS! Germonsen lets go of the hold and Guthrie can pop his arm back in it's socket.
