The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hotts misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Rumble.
Rumble shoots in but Hotts avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Rumble takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.

Rumble drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Hotts wants to stand and escape but Rumble is having none of it.
Hotts keeping moving, preventing Rumble from controlling successfully.
Hotts wants to sweep but no luck.
Hotts is trying to control the position but Rumble postures up.
Rumble stopping the sweep attempt from Hotts.
Rumble trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.

Rumble landing some decent shots from guard.
Rumble content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.
Rumble trying to control but Hotts is working from the bottom.
Hotts wants to stand and escape but Rumble is having none of it.

Hotts knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Rumble on the ground.
Rumble distracts Hotts with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Rumble passes Hotts's right leg, so he's now in half guard.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Rumble wants to lay and pray for a moment but Hotts keeps working.
Rumble tries to pass to full mount but Hotts defends it.
Hotts on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Hotts tries to get out of the position.
Hotts is trying to stand.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Rumble lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Rumble passes the guard and advances to mount!

Rumble fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!
Rumble looking to control but Hotts is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

Rumble is working to isolate an arm here. It's a telegraphed submission attempt but he's gone for it anyway - and he's got it! Rumble extends the arm and Hotts is forced to tap!
