Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Norberto Rivera!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Ross Tyson!
The judges for this bout are Robert Douchet, Dillan Fox and Yves DeLean.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Tyson fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Rivera sprawls well initially but Tyson persists and gets the takedown into half guard.
Tyson trying to mount his opponent but Rivera defends it.

Tyson seems to be looking for submissions.
Tyson is looking to pass the guard... He's managed it - he's now in full mount!

Rivera defends a decent attempt at a guillotine from Tyson.
Rivera is in all sorts of trouble here.
Rivera tries to hold on but Tyson postures up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Tyson goes for an armbar but he's fallen flat on his backside there and now Rivera is on top in guard.

Rivera lands a couple of digs.
Tyson is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Rivera tries to roll over but Tyson keeps him under control.
Tyson tries to pass to full mount but Rivera defends it.

Tyson is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Rivera doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Tyson.

Rivera really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Tyson looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Rivera wants to improve his position but Tyson is controlling well.
Tyson uses his free foot to push down on Rivera's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Rivera.

Tyson swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Rivera is now in Tyson's guard. A big mistake from Tyson there, giving up the dominant position!

Tyson manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Rivera manages to get himself to full guard.

Rivera will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Tyson sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Rivera's guard.

Tyson is looking to secure an arm. He's managed it! He's pivoting for an armbar - that looks tight! But Rivera has managed to get out of it and now he's in a dominant position. Nice work from Rivera!

Tyson goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Rivera has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Tyson but great work by Rivera.

Tyson utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

Tyson throws his legs up looking to secure a triangle. Oh, that looks pretty tight, I gotta say! Rivera escapes and throws Tyson's legs to the side, diving into side control!

Ross Tyson showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! This is the final round!

Tyson has gone for a leg lock! Rivera slips out almost immediately though and dives into Tyson's guard.

A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Rivera accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.

Rivera is working Tyson over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Tyson is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Tyson is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Well Tyson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
