PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight kickboxing rules bout between Sanderlei Bitetti (ranked 4312 p4p, 95 weight class) and Solomon Cook (ranked 3295 p4p, 81 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

and Cook finishes the little exchange by landing a big kick to the body.

Bitetti has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.

Cook rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Bitetti moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Bitetti lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.


It looks like Solomon Cook has been cut.
Bitetti throws a push kick but Cook slaps the foot to one side.

Cook scores with a head kick. Bitetti tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.

Cook buckles his opponent's knee momentarily with a nice leg kick.

Bitetti takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Cook moves out of range as Bitetti throws a body kick.
Bitetti swats away the attempt to clinch by Cook.
Bitetti swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.

Bitetti goes to the watering hole and comes back with a big thumbs up from the judges as he scores a three punch combo.
Bitetti is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Cook's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Bitetti is hobbling a little on that front leg after taking quite a few leg kicks so far in this fight.

Cook moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Bitetti walks straight into a perfectly timed right hook, crumpling him to the floor! Bitetti is in all kinds of trouble here - can he beat the count? 3,4,5,6,7,8,9....10 - he's out and it's by a long way too - he didn't ever look like beating that count!

Solomon Cook spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
