Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Bernnie Amarante (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Greg Porrieste (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Greg Porrieste will no doubt be trying to keep this one on the feet, where he has a distinct advantage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Bernnie Amarante!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 2 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Greg Porrieste!
The judges for this bout are Emerson Jorge, Luis Engracia and Leandro Rodrigues.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Amarante shoots for a double leg takedown but Porrieste sprawls well. He's pushed Amarante's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

Amarante darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Amarante throwing shots but they're hitting the canvas more than the man.
Porrieste is not content to let Amarante control the position.
Amarante content to control rather than advance.
Amarante has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
Amarante seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Porrieste does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Amarante tightens his grip and picks Porrieste up, before dumping him to the ground. Porrieste manages to land in guard.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Porrieste changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Amarante looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Amarante clinches.

Porrieste pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Porrieste wants to clinch up but Amarante keeps it at a distance.

Amarante bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Amarante throws an elbow but Porrieste slips to the side and avoids it well.

Amarante tries for a kimura but Porrieste is defending well.
Amarante tries to cartwheel into mount but he doesn't manage it.
Porrieste is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

Porrieste is sneaking out the side here. He's bucked Amarante off and has taken his back!
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Amarante really must keep his cool here. He's controlling one of Porrieste's hands and whilst he does that, he's got a chance of escaping the position.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.

Porrieste slows the pace down here. Having a little breather whilst he's in a dominant position, looking to rest and regain some energy, ready to go for the finish.
I really don't envy Amarante right now.
Porrieste wants to control but Amarante is keeping busy.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

Porrieste looking to break Amarante's wrist control so he can sink in the choke. Amarante remaining controlled and patient though - he really has to keep calm otherwise Porrieste will wrap this one up with the rear naked choke!

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Amarante wants to stand up but Porrieste has a hold of him and won't allow it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Porrieste wants to sweep here but Amarante controlling him for the moment.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Amarante shoots in but doesn't get the takedown
and Porrieste counters with a straight right hand.

Amarante shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Amarante was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Porrieste is squirming around, avoiding Amarante's attempts to control the action.
Porrieste is writhing around trying to get back to his feet.

Amarante can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Porrieste is looking to escape.

Amarante looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Porrieste avoids a series of strikes thrown by Amarante.
Porrieste in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.

Bernnie Amarante showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Amarante, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
