PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Jet Chan (ranked 4385 p4p, 392 weight class) and Twisty Kneereaper (ranked 2666 p4p, 289 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the prize buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 2 - 1, fighting out of Tokyo, Jet Chan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Twisty Kneereaper!
The judges for this bout are Yasuomi Hirokawa, Taro Takaoka and Tatsuya Matsuyama.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chan is looking to score with low kicks.
Chan throws a head kick that misses.
Chan misses with a kick to the body.
Chan takes a shot to the eye socket. That's gotta hurt.
The fight stays on the outside here - Kneereaper looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Chan tries to clinch up.
Chan looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.
Chan takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.
Kneereaper wants to clinch.
Kneereaper connects with a leg kick. Chan looked like he was expecting something else and didn't defend it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chan misses with a head kick.
Chan on the wrong end of a decent looking cross there.
A thudding body kick lands there by Kneereaper!
Kneereaper throws a nice inside leg kick.
Kneereaper shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Chan defends it nicely.

Kneereaper avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Kneereaper lands a nice looking body shot.
No luck for Kneereaper with that takedown attempt.
A lazy left from Kneereaper finds it's target.

Chan walks forward and throws out a flicking leg kick. Kneereaper checks it nicely though, as he moves to the side.
Chan misses with a wild body shot.
Chan shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Chan misses with a low kick.
Kneereaper cracks Chan with a right hand to the side of the head.
Chan on the wrong end of an overhand right that came out of nowhere.
Chan fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Kneereaper.
Chan pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Kneereaper connects with a body shot that sends Chan's belly button to the back.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Chan fakes with the hands and throws a leg kick but Kneereaper is out of range.
A head kick misses from Chan.
Chan tries to clinch there but Kneereaper circles away.
Nice uppercut lands for Kneereaper. That snapped Chan's head back.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Kneereaper shoots in but Chan avoids the takedown attempt easily.
Jet Chan has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Twisty Kneereaper.
Kneereaper avoids the head kick by Chan.

Kneereaper manages to get an easy takedown there - catching Chan on his heels. He'll look to pass Chan's guard now, I'm sure.
Kneereaper wants to pass the guard but Chan is keeping the position.
Kneereaper is still trying to improve position.
Kneereaper is looking to pass into half guard but Chan pushes him away with his feet and jumps on top - now Chan is in guard.

Kneereaper is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Chan is aware though and is defending well.
Chan has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.

Kneereaper has his foot on Chan's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Chan works his way back into a safe position though.

Chan has a momentary lapse of concentration, allowing Kneereaper to throw up a leg and lock on what appears to be a pretty tight triangle! Chan is fighting it off but it's all too little too late - Kneereaper pulls down on the head and he's put Chan to sleep! This one is all over!

After winning the bout, Twisty Kneereaper thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
