Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Akaro Horiguchi (ranked 3466 p4p, 373 weight class) and Douglas Dannis (ranked 3419 p4p, 369 weight class). Horiguchi comes to the cage accompanied by Girl From The North Country. Akaro Horiguchi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Akaro Horiguchi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Douglas Dannis!
The judges for this bout are Shirou Masuda, Taro Takaoka and Hirohito Nitta.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Horiguchi tries a switch kick but it misses it's target.
Horiguchi throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
The fighters circling - Dannis throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
The crowd cheers as Horiguchi lands an impressive looking overhand right. Dannis doesn't seem phased though.
Dannis shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Dannis staying out of range there.
Horiguchi with a nice cross.
Horiguchi scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Horiguchi moves out of range as Dannis strikes.
Dannis sees a low kick coming and goes to check it, but it's actually a body kick and it thuds into his unprotected ribs.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Horiguchi moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Horiguchi throws a right and a left that both miss.
Dannis moves in looking to clinch but Horiguchi pushes him off.
Horiguchi cracks Dannis with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Dannis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Horiguchi.
Horiguchi lunges at Dannis with a hook that half lands and is half blocked by Dannis's hand.
Dannis misses with a low kick.
Horiguchi fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Dannis throws a hook but Horiguchi blocks it.
Horiguchi half committed to a counter leg kick.
Horiguchi has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Far-Q Fight Club in the buildup to the fight.
Dannis takes a shot right to the bread basket.
Horiguchi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Good standup being displayed there by Horiguchi as he connects with a hook.
Horiguchi lands with a nice body punch.
Dannis tries to keep at a distance but Horiguchi has taken the fight into the clinch.
A head punch blocked on the inside by Dannis.
Horiguchi lands with a left to the head.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Horiguchi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
Dannis dives in and grabs Horiguchi's left leg, looking for a takedown. Horiguchi pushes down on Dannis's head and hops out.
Horiguchi scores with a punch to the gut of his opponent.
Horiguchi moves into the clinch.
Dannis tries to pull guard but Horiguchi holds him up against the cage and eventually Dannis drops back down to his feet.
Akaro Horiguchi has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Douglas Dannis.
Horiguchi breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Horiguchi clobbers Dannis with an overhand right that has the crowd gasping. That made a horrendous noise.
Horiguchi lands an overhand left. A wild punch that just about connected.
Horiguchi thumps Dannis with a low kick.
Dannis takes a really solid shot there but just smiles back and shrugs his shoulders.
Horiguchi scores with a jab to the head.
Dannis drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Horiguchi scores with a nice right hand.
Dannis moves his head to the side to avoid a jab but walks straight into a cross.
Dannis is rocked!
That's three minutes gone in the round.
Horiguchi has taken the fight to the clinch.
Dannis is still on wobbly legs! Can Horiguchi finish him?
A short right hand to the side of the head by Horiguchi.
Horiguchi unloads with a big right hand that wobbles Dannis! He's leaning against the cage trying to keep his feet but Horiguchi is unloading with more strikes now! Dannis drops to his knees and the referee stops the fight for a TKO!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Akaro Horiguchi!
After winning the bout, Akaro Horiguchi thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
