The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Saunders lands a head kick!

It looks like Taoka Kazuo has been cut.
Saunders throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Kazuo.
Kazuo circles away from the clinch attempt.
Kazuo has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Saunders finds it's way round the side to connect with Kazuo's head.
Kazuo throws a hook but Saunders avoids it easily.
Kazuo misses the jab.
Kazuo takes one to the chin there.
Kazuo misses with a takedown attempt
and Saunders counters with a flying knee. Nice.
Saunders takes an uppercut right on the jaw but it doesn't phase him.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Saunders blocks a jab.
Saunders looks to land a combination. Kazuo sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.
Saunders slips under a jab.
Kazuo throws a hook but Saunders blocks it.
Saunders lands a high kick!
Kazuo will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Kazuo takes a head kick and shrugs it off.

Taoka Kazuo's cut is getting worse.
A solid leg kick lands there for Saunders.
Saunders scores with a kick to the body.
Kazuo misses the jab.
Saunders throws a head kick that Kazuo semi-blocks.
Kazuo is really struggling to find his range with his punches. Saunders's reach advantage is clearly causing him problems.

Saunders lands a head kick. Kazuo smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Kazuo is rocked!
Kazuo loads up on a big right hand but Saunders slips the punch.
Saunders is clearly looking to counter with head kicks.

Taoka Kazuo's cut is bleeding quite badly. He's got to try and protect it.
A left lands for Saunders.
Oh Kazuo is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Saunders lands a big head kick that sends Kazuo tumbling to the mat! Saunders takes a step backwards and waves Kazuo back to his feet - he wants the finish!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Saunders lands a big head kick that sends Kazuo tumbling to the mat! Saunders takes a step backwards and waves Kazuo back to his feet - he wants the finish!

Jeez, Taoka Kazuo's cut is really nasty now. The referee must be thinking about getting that checked.
Saunders connects with a hook to the side of his opponent's head.
Saunders has his head slapped from side to side by a 3 punch combination. That must have hurt him.
Saunders scores with a head kick. Kazuo tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Saunders ducks under a wild hook from Kazuo.
Kazuo is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
Kazuo throws a shot from downtown. Saunders moves away and avoids it.
Taoka Kazuo seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
