Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of London, Herschel Nunez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Sam Yardly !
The judges for this bout are Andrew Berry, Daniel Bishop and James Atkins.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yardly misses with a kick to the body
and Nunez counters with a one-two to the body.

Nunez closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.

Yardly wants the takedown. Nunez is fighting it off but Yardly persists and manages to bring the fight to the ground, ending up in Nunez's guard against the cage.
Yardly working some ground and pound from guard but it's not doing any damage.

Yardly pushes down on Nunez's leg and manages to get into half guard.
Yardly is keen to just control but Nunez is a slippery customer.
Yardly has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Nunez is refusing to be controlled, as Yardly sits in half guard.
Yardly trying to pass the guard but Nunez defending well.
Yardly tries to stand but can't do so whilst Nunez controls his leg.
Nunez is staying active underneath Yardly , who seems content to just control the action from this position.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Yardly decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

Nunez pushes Yardly off and gets back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Yardly tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nunez swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Sam Yardly seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nunez darts in looking for a takedown but Yardly gets double underhooks and turns Nunez into the cage.
Yardly tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
No luck for Nunez with that takedown attempt.
Yardly displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Nunez.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Herschel Nunez. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Yardly shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Nunez napping and manages to drive through into side control!

Nunez throws his opponent off and manages to get back to his feet! Nicely done!
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Yardly wants to clinch.

Yardly shoots in and gets a takedown into Nunez's guard.
Yardly loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Yardly sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Nunez's guard.
Yardly is keen to just control but Nunez is a slippery customer.
Yardly uses his free foot to push down on Nunez's thigh. Eventually he works his other foot free and he's advanced to mount - this is trouble for Nunez.
Yardly can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Nunez is looking to escape.

Yardly is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Nunez has managed to escape the submission attempt.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Yardly throws an elbow from mount that misses. Lucky escape for Nunez because Yardly loaded up on that one.
Nunez blocking the ground and pound.

Yardly is going oldschool here, as he tries to force Nunez to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so Nunez shrugs it off.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Yardly has isolated one of Nunez's arms. Nunez looking to fight him off but Yardly twists into an armbar. It's tight... Will he tap?? YES, he's tapped! This one is all over!
