The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Morton throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Kankkunen cracks a nice hook into Morton's ribs.
Morton doesn't react quick enough there as he takes a shot to the body.

Morton moves into the clinch successfully.

Kankkunen breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.

Kankkunen pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Kankkunen shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Morton is trying to defend but Kankkunen finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Kankkunen connects with a nice short shot to Morton's temple.

Morton is rocked!
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Morton tries to roll over but Kankkunen keeps him under control.
Oh Morton is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Kankkunen in particular looking to stall.
Kankkunen lands a big elbow - Morton is out of it! He's waving his arms around but his eyes are closed and he's not intelligently defending himself - the ref has no choice but to jump in and stop the fight! This one is in the books! A TKO win for Kankkunen!
