Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Coolster Cody (ranked 3203 p4p, 299 weight class) and Gangster Keith (ranked 5366 p4p, 387 weight class). Cody comes to the cage accompanied by Too Cool. Keith has chosen Gangster's Paradise as his entrance music. Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Coolster Cody!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Gangster Keith!
The judges for this bout are James Ackerman, Sam Margolis and William Gold.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Keith forces Cody back against the cage and clinches.

Keith manages to break the clinch.
Cody throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Keith.
Cody throws a right and a left that Keith avoids nicely.
Keith tries to clinch up but Cody circles away and keeps his distance.

Keith fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Cody, pushing him back against the cage.
Keith stops a takedown attempt from Cody.

Keith lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Cody taking some punishment here, with Keith in his half guard.
Cody won't allow Keith to pass to mount.
Cody is looking to improve his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Keith perhaps working for something from half guard, or maybe not. It looks like he's just sitting there.
Let's hope that Keith has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Cody tries to roll over but Keith keeps him under control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Keith takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Cody is looking to improve his position.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Cody tries to clinch up.

Keith moves into the clinch.
Keith lands with a good tight uppercut to the head.

Keith has picked Cody up - he's going for a ride! Keith dumps his opponent to the mat with a thud and settles into half guard.
Keith is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Keith slips a nice elbow through Cody's hands, connecting with Cody's forehead.
Keith moves nicely into side control.

Keith is trying to land an Americana. He has the arm isolated but Cody is keeping cool and he's avoided the danger for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Keith lands a knee to the body and follows it up with some ground and pound to the head. That will wear Cody down.
Cody struggling a bit here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Cody takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Keith wants to stand but Cody has his arm trapped.
Keith taking a breather here.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cody wants to control but Keith postures up.
Keith has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
Cody is breathing heavily.
The referee tells the fighters to keep busy.

Keith stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Keith darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Cody taking some punishment here, with Keith in his half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gangster Keith dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.


Cody throws a sloppy head kick

and Keith counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Keith.
Keith avoiding damage.

Keith jumps guard and drags Cody to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Cody trying to control the position from guard on top but Keith is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Keith throws some sloppy strikes off his back.

Keith looking for a guillotine here but Cody defends easily.

Cody trying to pass the guard but can't manage it just yet.
Keith is trying to keep Cody in close.
Cody looking to pass the guard.
Cody wants to control from the top but Keith keeps moving.
We must be close to a standup if these guys don't pick up the pace.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Cody stopping the sweep attempt from Keith.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.
Coolster Cody is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
A bone on bone clash there as Cody blocks the leg kick.
Cody tries for a takedown but Keith sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Keith shoots in but no luck this time.

Keith drives through and clinches with Cody against the cage.
Cody trying to stall but Keith improves his position.

Cody escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Keith misses with a jab, cross combination.
Keith dives in and grabs Cody's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cody pushes down on Keith's head and hops out.
Cody looks frustrated there after his takedown attempt is stuffed easily.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Keith looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Keith is controlling the pace.

Keith is trying a forearm choke… I don't think that's going to do much at this level of the game.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Cody tries to get to full guard but Keith has control of the leg.
It looks like Keith is going to stand back up.
Keith seems content to maintain position for now, rather than mounting any offense.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Gangster Keith showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Cody throws a left and a right that both miss

so Keith counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Cody not looking particularly offensive just at the moment.
Cody looking to hit a scissor sweep but Keith is one step ahead there.
Keith scores with a decent looking elbow strike.
Keith is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Keith is looking to stand up but Cody won't let him.
Keith is stalling in the full guard.
Cody knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Keith on the ground.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Keith scores with a decent looking elbow strike.

Keith controlling from the guard. I say controlling but really, he's stalling.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Keith keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
A low kick from Cody misses

and Keith counters with a shoot takedown into half guard.
Keith is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Cody is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Keith controlling the pace.
Keith wants to stand up but Cody has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Keith content to control rather than advance.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Keith dives in and grabs Cody's left leg, looking for a takedown. Cody pushes down on Keith's head and hops out.
Cody circles away from the clinch attempt.
Keith shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Cody as he jumps to the side.
Cody changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.
Keith fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Cody avoids it really well and circles away.
Coolster Cody has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Gangster Keith.

Cody is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Keith's half guard.

Keith slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.
Cody wanted to stand there but Keith had control of the position.
Cody has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Keith is on top in guard.

Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Keith is stalling in the full guard.

And that's the end of the fight!
Gangster Keith comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Keith winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
