Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Andy Miranda!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Jeremiah Hornaday!
The judges for this bout are Josh West, Jeff Smith and Ryoma Takatsuka.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hornaday swinging wildly here.
Hornaday blocks a head kick by Miranda.

Hornaday shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Miranda is trying to stand up.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Miranda is staying active underneath Hornaday, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Hornaday is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Miranda defends it well.
Miranda is holding on to half guard well.
Miranda is trying to stand.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Hornaday seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Miranda does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.
Miranda is pressing down on Hornaday's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Hornaday stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Miranda swivels though and keeps the full guard.

Hornaday gets to his feet - Miranda follows without any prompting.

Hornaday fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Miranda to the ground. Hornaday is now in Miranda's guard.

Miranda is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Miranda really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
The fighters are starting to get sweaty, which will make takedowns a bit more tricky.
Miranda is trying to slow down the pace in the clinch, to catch his breath.

Hornaday escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Hornaday pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Miranda moves to clinch but Hornaday breaks away
and Hornaday counters with an inside leg kick.

Hornaday closes the distance and pushes Miranda back into the cage.

Hornaday breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Hornaday tries a head kick but it misses.
Hornaday's jab looks to have found its range, popping Miranda under the eye.
Miranda wants to clinch up but Hornaday keeps it at a distance.

Miranda closes the distance and clinches.

Hornaday turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Miranda tries to buck Hornaday off but Hornaday is having none of it.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Miranda takes an elbow right on the bridge of the nose and winces in pain.
Miranda regains half guard there - taking advantage of Hornaday's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Miranda is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jeremiah Hornaday dominated that round.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business.



Hornaday moves into the clinch.

Hornaday has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Miranda is trying to keep an underhook but Hornaday manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Miranda has managed to escape just enough to sneak back to his feet but Hornaday is on him like a limpet, forcing Miranda back against the cage.

Hornaday gets a nice trip takedown into half guard.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Miranda is doing well to avoid being mounted. He's controlling the position at the moment.
Hornaday is looking to take a break and control but Miranda is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Hornaday is stalling here. Miranda is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Hornaday seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Miranda has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

Miranda goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Hornaday rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Miranda's guard! Nice work there by Hornaday!

Hornaday is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Hornaday wants to control from the top but Miranda keeps moving.

Hornaday seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Hornaday decides he's had enough of playing guard and decides to stand. Come on Miranda, up you get!
Hornaday throws a nasty head kick that just misses. He throws another kick to the head of his opponent and almost takes it off! Miranda crumples to the floor and the fight is over!
