Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Shane Nakamura (ranked 3634 p4p, 128 weight class) and Rodimus Prime (ranked 3727 p4p, 129 weight class). Shane Nakamura has a significant reach advantage - let's see if he can make it count.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Shane Nakamura!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rodimus Prime!
The judges for this bout are Paulsen Ambrosius, Albert Achterberg and Patrick Alders.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Prime stuffs the takedown.

Prime darts in and clinches Nakamura up against the cage.
Prime wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Nakamura changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Prime fights it off and pushes away nicely.

Prime rushes Nakamura and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.

Prime breaks the clinch.
Nakamura looks for a takedown but Prime sprawls well.
Prime tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Shane Nakamura. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Prime tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nakamura sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Prime somewhat.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nakamura shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Prime but Prime pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Nakamura closes this distance looking for a takedown but Prime circles away.
Prime tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Nakamura paws at him with a jab and circles away.

Prime manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Nakamura avoids the clinch attempt nicely.
Shane Nakamura seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Nakamura shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Prime's guard.

Prime pushes Nakamura off and gets back to his feet.
Wooooo! Give it up for these two warriors! They are putting on a show!
Prime throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
Nakamura goes for a double leg but Prime avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Prime continues to drive forward.

Prime closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.
Prime is keen to just control but Nakamura is a slippery customer.

Nakamura has one foot on Prime's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Nakamura.
Nakamura is breathing heavily.

Horrible takedown attempt by Nakamura or perhaps it was just good defense by Prime, which made it look bad.
Nakamura keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Prime misses with a takedown attempt. He shot from a bit too far out.

Nakamura is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Prime has escaped the position, nice work there.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's time! Nakamura's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Prime has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Nakamura staying busy and making it hard for Prime to control.
Prime is controlling his opponent, waiting for an opportunity to finish.

Prime has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Nakamura has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
Nakamura is trying to get back to his feet but he's not managed it yet.
Rodimus Prime has got the better of the ground game so far.

Nakamura manages to stand up with Prime still on his back. Eventually Prime drops to his feet and we're back in the standing position.
Nakamura dives in for a single leg takedown but Prime sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
Nakamura goes for a double leg but Prime avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Prime continues to drive forward.

Nakamura dives in and grabs Prime's left leg, looking for a takedown. Prime pushes down on Nakamura's head and hops out.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Prime rushes Nakamura and presses him up against the cage.
Nakamura has Prime pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Prime manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.
Nakamura tries for a takedown but Prime manages to get underhooks.
Prime wants to break free. God knows he wants to breaaaak freeee.

Prime pulls guard effortlessly.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Prime lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.


Nakamura is scooting his butt against the cage and has managed to get back to his feet. Prime presses him back against the cage, presumably looking to take the fight back to the mat.
Prime working some nice short punches in the clinch.

Prime breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Nakamura fails with the takedown.
Prime shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Nakamura pinned against the cage. Nakamura gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Rodimus Prime showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.

Prime throws a head kick that half lands.


It looks like Shane Nakamura has been cut.

Rodimus Prime seems to be getting the better of the standup.

Prime is looking to control Nakamura's leg but it's slowly edging free. Can Prime avoid being mounted?
Prime moves his hips nicely and gets into full guard.

Nakamura pushes down on Prime's leg and manages to get into half guard.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
Prime desperately trying to maintain half guard.
Prime is looking for a sweep. Nakamura is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
Nakamura will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Prime on the receiving end of some nice ground and pound.
Nakamura misses with a head shot. Prime uses the momentum to regain guard.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Nakamura accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Nakamura lands a couple of elbows.
Shane Nakamura has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!
Rodimus Prime is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Prime escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nakamura gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

And that's the end of the fight!
Rodimus Prime comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Prime has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
