Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Dennis Davids (ranked 4753 p4p, 0 weight class) and Cayden Abner (ranked 5027 p4p, 0 weight class). These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Dennis Davids!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Cayden Abner!
The judges for this bout are Wagner Zegers, Paulsen Ambrosius and Albert Achterberg.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Abner throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Abner takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Abner dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Davids shoots in but Abner avoids the takedown attempt easily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Abner keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Abner let fly with a counter punch to the body but it didn't land.
Davids dives in and grabs Abner's left leg, looking for a takedown. Abner pushes down on Davids's head and hops out.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dennis Davids. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Davids shoots in for a takedown from distance. He catches Abner napping and manages to drive through into side control!
Abner managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Davids.

Davids tries for a kimura. Not really close to a finish though.

Davids stands up and we're back to a striking position.

Davids shoots in looking for a single leg takedown. Abner is trying to defend but Davids finishes it well and ends up in half guard. Let's see if he can advance position further.
Abner looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.

Davids stalling.

Davids is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Abner defends it well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Davids is taking a breather. Abner says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Davids is working for a kimura but Abner is defending it quite comfortably.
Davids keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Abner paws at his opponent with the jab and then lunges in with a straight, right on the button.
Davids fails with the takedown
enabling Abner to counter with a crisp jab.

Davids gets a double leg takedown into Abner's guard.
Davids slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Cayden Abner will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Davids tries to score a power double leg takedown but Abner sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Davids somewhat.

Abner jabs Davids right on the nose. Davids blinks but takes it well.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.
Abner stuns Davids with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.

Abner has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Davids shoots in for a takedown. He's persisting with it as Abner sprawls well. Abner wins this battle and keeps the fight standing. Davids gets slowly back to his feet.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Davids displays some good footwork, moving neatly out of range as Abner throws out the jab.

Davids wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Abner throws a wild combination but nothing lands.
Davids drops down looking for a counter takedown but Abner sprawls and moves away.
Davids has his takedown stuffed
and Abner counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Davids walks into a jab.
Davids tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Abner defends well and Davids ends up having to push Abner into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.

and Abner counters with a straight punch to the midsection.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Abner moves into the clinch.

Abner pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.

Abner tries to keep at a distance but Davids has taken the fight into the clinch.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Abner breaks the clinch.
Davids on the wrong end of a vicious looking body shot.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Cayden Abner showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Back to the action! This is the final round!

Abner thuds his right hand into Davids's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Davids fails with the takedown.
Abner now looks to counter with a shot at the body.
Davids dives in for a single leg takedown but Abner sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.
It seemed like Abner was going to counter with the hook but didn't fully commit to it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Dennis Davids. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davids shoots in for a takedown but Abner shows good takedown defense.

Abner has closed the distance and engaged Davids in a clinch.

Davids tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Davids has Abner pressed up against the cage and is working for takedown. Abner manages to improve position though and keeps the fight standing.

Abner lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Davids backwards.

Abner breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Davids gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
enabling Abner to counter with a crisp jab.
Cayden Abner is fighting for a decision - hopefully he's judged it right and he's actually winning the fight.

Abner connects with a single shot there.
Davids shoots and misses
letting Abner counter with a right hand.

Abner rushes Davids and presses him up against the cage.
Abner lands punches inside but they're not really causing much damage.
Davids tries to jump guard but he falls flat on his backside. Abner smiles and moves away.

Davids drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dennis Davids has stepped it up - he knows he needs a finish here!

Abner wants to stand and escape but Davids is having none of it.
Davids missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Abner is trying to stand up but he's not managed so far.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Davids is looking to work some ground and pound but Abner has wrist control.

And that's the end of the fight!
Cayden Abner comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
I've got Abner winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
