PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bill McPherson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Neil Jules (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Montreal, Bill McPherson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Neil Jules!
The judges for this bout are Elvis Blanc, Dillan Fox and William Peck.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
McPherson fails with an attempt to clinch.
Jules tries to close the distance and clinch up but McPherson swats him away and circles back towards the center.
Jules wants to clinch up but McPherson keeps it at a distance.
McPherson throws a quick head kick that skims the top of Jules's head.
McPherson scores with a nice body kick.
Jules throws a series of punches but McPherson moves out of range.
A combination from Jules does no damage.
McPherson tries to bum rush Jules with a series of wild strikes but Jules uses good footwork to avoid the assault.
McPherson circles away from the clinch attempt

and McPherson holds on and brings the fighters into a clinch.
Come on McPherson - let's have some action - none of this stalling nonsense.
Jules prevents the takedown attempt.
McPherson lands an elbow just above Jules 's eye.
Jules wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but McPherson has him pressed against the cage.
Jules fails to pull guard.

McPherson manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.
McPherson will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Jules stops McPherson from standing up.
McPherson trying to strike from the bottom but really, it's not the best position to be doing that from!
Jules stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. McPherson swivels though and keeps the full guard.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jules trying to control but McPherson is working from the bottom.
McPherson knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jules on the ground.

The referee has ruled that neither fighter is active enough on the ground and has stood them back up.
Jules wants to clinch.

McPherson drives through and clinches with Jules against the cage.

McPherson is trying to trip Jules. He has hold of a leg but Jules is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. McPherson persists though and gets the takedown into guard.

McPherson avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Jules wants to sweep here but McPherson controlling him for the moment.

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Jules looking for submissions off his back, moving his hips, looking for an opening.

McPherson stands and steps away. Jules gets to his feet too and we're back to the striking game.
McPherson is breathing heavily.

McPherson feints and as Jules raises his hands in defense, McPherson changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.

McPherson is trying to tuck his arms in to keep them safe but Jules has managed to isolate one of them and has got a loose triangle. McPherson is looking to defend but Jules has done well to lock his legs together - this could be big trouble for McPherson! Jules pulls down on the head and a little smile comes across his face - he knows he's got it. Yep, McPherson taps out and this one is all over!
