Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Warner Dean (ranked 24236 p4p, 0 weight class) and Calum Grady (ranked 4834 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Warner Dean!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Calum Grady!
The judges for this bout are , Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Grady throws a nice looking combination but Dean bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.

Grady shoots in for a takedown and gets it.
Grady wants to control but Dean is keeping him busy.
Grady is just sitting in half guard, waiting for something to happen.
Grady wants to get back to his feet.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Dean keeping control of the leg, stopping his opponent passing to mount.

Grady misses with a head shot. Dean uses the momentum to regain guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Grady wants to stand but Dean has a closed guard, so he can't escape.
Grady slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.
The referee claps his hands together and tells the fighters to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Grady postures up.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Grady drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Grady sitting in guard, not really doing much.
Dean wants to sweep here but Grady controlling him for the moment.
Grady with a flurry of punches that miss.
Dean can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Grady controls the pace.

Dean tries to land a sweep but no joy.
Dean lands a beautiful sweep and he's now moved into his opponent's guard.

Grady is adopting a defensive guard.
Dean could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Grady wants to get back to his feet but Dean is in a dominant position and won't allow it.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Grady is looking for a triangle but Dean pushes his legs off easily.
Grady is doing well to control the posture of his opponent and prevent any damage.
We get told so often about how wrestlers don't like to be on their backs. Let's see if Grady can do anything to dispel that myth.
Grady is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
Dean in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Grady feints and as Dean raises his hands in defense, Grady changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
Dean striking off his back but it's not causing Grady any problems.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Calum Grady dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Dean has his hands on Grady's head, controlling the position.
Grady won't allow Dean to sweep him here.
Grady wants to stand but Dean is controlling his posture from full guard.
Calum Grady has got the better of the ground game so far.

Dean might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Grady is looking to stand up but Dean won't let him.

If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.

Grady closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Dean tries to bench press Grady off him but Grady keeps the position.
Grady tries to get to his feet but he's trapped momentarily.

You can see the frustration on Dean's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

Dean throws a couple of strikes even though he's not really in a good position to do so.
Dean seems a little lost for a moment, as Grady dominates the positioning.
Grady moves into full mount!
Grady prevents Dean from getting the reversal.
Dean slips a leg in and gets back to half guard.
Dean is trying to get back to full guard.

The fighters are battling for position here. Dean manages to regain full guard. Nice work.

Grady drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Dean dives on top into guard.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Grady is adopting a defensive guard.

Grady is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Dean defends well.
Dean postures up.
We've had a lack of effective grappling in the last minute or so, which could well see a referee standup.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Dean looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Grady!

Calum Grady showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Dean's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

Dean is taking a breather. Grady says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.

Grady has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Grady is pressing down on Dean's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.

Dean throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Dean is working Grady over from the guard. He should look to pass the guard and do a little more damage with these strikes.

Dean loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.

Dean throws a strike but Grady avoids it easily and moves to full guard.

Dean is in close to Grady's body, working some short punches and elbows.
Grady has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.

Dean tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Dean has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
Grady tries to bench press Dean off him but Dean keeps the position.
The referee looks like he's ready to step in and stand the fighters back up.
Dean is looking to take a break and control but Grady is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Warner Dean showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Grady has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
