Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Phillip Terrell (ranked 6434 p4p, 397 weight class) and Sirus Hughes (ranked 6508 p4p, 399 weight class). Terrell comes to the cage accompanied by Jammin. Hughes has chosen Devil "Shinedown" as his entrance music. Phillip Terrell has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Both fighters circling a little - Terrell finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.

Hughes moves into range and clinches up with Terrell.
Terrell misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Hughes's coach down at Russian Bears Training Center was telling us pre-fight that they have been working on Hughes's balance. Obviously they view that as a key factor in the outcome of this fight.
Hughes avoids a wild elbow strike from Terrell.
Terrell slows down the pace here.

Terrell breaks the clinch.
We've been told by Terrell's head coaches at Smitty's that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
A looping hook to the body misses from Hughes. Terrell does a little dance to reset his feet.
Terrell tries a head kick but it misses.
Sloppy strikes from Hughes. Those never looked like landing.

Hughes has taken the fight to the clinch.
Terrell trying to land knees to the body.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Terrell looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Hughes keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Terrell's efforts to push away.
Hughes drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Terrell gets the underhooks and prevents it.
Terrell is trying to break the clinch but Hughes is controlling him.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Terrell tries to land a knee to the head but Hughes blocks with his arms.

Hughes jumps guard and drags Terrell to the mat. He's obviously going to be looking for submissions off his back.

Terrell looking to improve position, pressing down on Hughes's thigh with his hand. Hughes seems to be working to lock up a guilotine though... is Terrell paying attention? Apparently not! He's locked it up tight! Terrell's face has turned purple! Will he tap? Will he! YES! He's tapped! Hughes picked his opening and made it count! Great finish!
