PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Louis Mccray (ranked 24466 p4p, 0 weight class) and Justin Sinn (ranked 4790 p4p, 0 weight class). Justin Sinn told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 1, fighting out of New York, Louis Mccray!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Justin Sinn!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Jonathan Paton and Alyssa Summers.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Sinn drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Mccray manages to get back to half guard.
Mccray trying to control but Sinn postures up.
Sinn working Mccray over with strikes.
Sinn really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Mccray. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Sinn slows the pace down in half guard.
Sinn working to pass to mount. He's got his hand pressing down on Mccray's thigh. Mccray counters though and makes it back to full guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Sinn looking to control the position here, rather than advance.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Sinn has gone for a leg lock! Mccray slips out almost immediately though and dives into Sinn's guard.


That's one minute gone in the round.

Sinn is throwing his legs up, looking for submissions. Mccray is aware though and is defending well.
Mccray might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

Sinn is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
Mccray slips nicely into half guard, despite the strikes coming from Sinn.

Mccray stands up from half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sinn shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Mccray as he jumps to the side.
It looked like Mccray wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.
Sinn misses with a takedown attempt - Mccray sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Nice sprawl there from Mccray as Sinn shoots in.
Louis Mccray has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Justin Sinn.
Sinn looks winded!
Sinn has his takedown stuffed
and Mccray counters with a nice uppercut.

Mccray closes the distance and looks for a trip takedown... aaaand he's got it - Mccray lands in his opponent's guard.
Mccray stops Sinn from standing up.

Mccray stands up and waves to Sinn to follow him.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Sinn misses with a takedown attempt
and Mccray counters with a shot to the ribs. That looked like it hurt.
Mccray throws a right hand that Sinn ducks under and follows up with a left that Sinn also avoids with ease.
No luck with that takedown attempt from Sinn.
Sinn fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Mccray was looking to counter that move with a punch but didn't quite pull the trigger.
Sinn has his takedown stuffed
enabling Mccray to counter with a crisp jab.

Mccray bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.

Mccray thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Mccray has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Justin Sinn seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

That's four minutes gone in the round.

Sinn gets caught flat footed, as Mccray shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Sinn wants to get back to his feet but Mccray passes into half guard.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Mccray looks to score some points with some ground and pound.

Mccray stands up out of the half guard.

Mccray has closed the distance and engaged Sinn in a clinch.
Sinn has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Mccray avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Mccray really is a fat lump.
Mccray stalling against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Louis Mccray dominated that round.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Sinn looks to clinch
enabling Mccray to counter with a crisp jab.
Sinn looks for a takedown but Mccray sprawls well.
Sinn gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and Mccray counters with a lovely straight right hand!


Sinn is rocked!

Mccray closes the distance looking for a takedown. Mccray picks Sinn up and slams him brutally to the floor. Sinn is out! He's out cold! Wow, you don't see a finish like that every day!
