PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Eta Knox (ranked 1181 p4p, 70 weight class) and Black Alligator (ranked 2019 p4p, 118 weight class). Knox comes to the cage accompanied by David Dallas | Runnin'. Alligator has chosen Golden Features - Always as his entrance music, which hasn't gone down very well with the crowd. Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 10 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Black Alligator!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Frank Antenori and Jack Bonds.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Knox swings and misses with a hook to the body.
And an attempted straight right on the counter from Alligator! But no joy.
Knox throws a series of strikes that have Alligator backpedaling.

Knox fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Alligator, pushing him back against the cage.
Knox can't find room to land a body shot as Alligator controls the action.

Alligator breaks from the clinch.
Alligator has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Knox finds it's way round the side to connect with Alligator's head.

enabling Alligator to counter with a crisp jab.
Knox swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Alligator.
Knox cracks Alligator with a nice right hand that draws applause from the crowd.
Knox closes the distance and clinches up with Alligator, looking for a takedown. Knox pushes Alligator against the cage but Alligator circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Knox uses good footwork to get in and out, landing a nice hook.
Knox works his jab well there, keeping his opponent at a distance.
Knox shoots for a double leg takedown but Alligator sprawls well. He's pushed Knox's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
As Knox backs off Alligator throws a huge counter combo but Knox manages to avoid it all.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Eta Knox. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Knox closes the distance and pushes Alligator back into the cage.

The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.

This has been an exciting period of action!
Knox looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Alligator is fending him off so far but Knox persists. Nope, Alligator circles away and we're back to standing.
A nice side step and Alligator releases a counter shot to the body, but it doesn't find it's home.

Alligator lands a jab to Knox's midsection.
Knox throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Both fighters circling a little - Alligator finishes the exchange with a kick to the body.
Knox shoots in for a takedown but Alligator shows good takedown defense.
Alligator swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Knox throws a body punch but Alligator moves out of range.

It looks like Knox has been trying to sharpen up his punching technique, as it looks crisper than last time we saw him.

Alligator shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Knox drives through with a takedown into Alligator's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

After winning the bout, Black Alligator thanked all his fans and promised he'd do even better in his next fight. The crowd seemed to love his humility.
