The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Yakov is looking to slow Courtemanche down with leg kicks.
Yakov looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Courtemanche throws a shot from downtown. Yakov moves away and avoids it.
Yakov throwing a counter right hand but Courtemanche manages to avoid it.
Yakov looking to throw a kick but he's pulled out of it.
Courtemanche moves out of range as Yakov throws a body kick.
Yakov throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Courtemanche counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Courtemanche ducks under a wild hook from Yakov.
Courtemanche misses with a straight left.
Yakov throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Yakov takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Yakov throws an overhand right that lands on Courtemanche's shoulder, as Courtemanche tries to avoid the shot.
Courtemanche looks to land a left hand but Yakov moved out of range nicely.
Yakov lands a jab followed by a nice looking cross.
It looks like Alexandre Courtemanche has been cut.
Yakov goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.
Courtemanche appeared to try and counter that last move with a leg kick.
Courtemanche explodes with a nice body kick and back out of range. Nice work.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Courtemanche closes the distance and scores with a big combo that sends Yakov crashing to the mat! Yakov uses the ropes to get back to his feet and beat the count. The referee looks concerned but he's going to allow it to continue!
Yakov is rocked!
It looks like Kazimir Yakov has been cut.
Courtemanche weaves into range and cracks Yakov right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Yakov goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Courtemanche is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:51 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Alexandre Courtemanche!
