Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Andrei Mirkovich!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bearclaw Brennan!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Fedor Mirinova and Aleksandr Martynov.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mirkovich misses with a takedown attempt
and Mirkovich takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Mirkovich has managed to clinch.
Mirkovich is working on a leg, looking for a takedown but Brennan is defending well.
Brennan wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Mirkovich has him pressed against the cage.
Mirkovich drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Brennan gets the underhooks and prevents it.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Andrei Mirkovich. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Mirkovich wants to take the fight to the mat but Brennan manages to get underhooks and keep the fight in the clinch.
Brennan makes some space for himself and lands an uppercut.
Mirkovich tries for a takedown. No joy.
Brennan creates a bit of distance and throws an elbow that only just misses.
Brennan wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Mirkovich has dropped down and is looking to force the takedown but it's defended by Brennan after a bit of a struggle.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
A right hand to the body from Brennan.
Mirkovich is breathing heavily.
Brennan is working for takedown but Mirkovich is calmly controlling the position for now.
Brennan prevents the takedown attempt.
Brennan breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brennan uses good footwork to get in and out and land a nice right hand before Mirkovich has time to react.
It looks like Andrei Mirkovich has been cut.
Mirkovich doesn't succeed with the takedown
and Brennan counters with a nice uppercut.
That's one minute gone in the round.
Brennan fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Mirkovich to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Mirkovich looks to clinch but Brennan throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Mirkovich taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:09 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Bearclaw Brennan!
