Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hunter shoots in for a double leg but Leaf sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Leaf tries to counter by clinching up but Hunter breaks away and moves out of range.

Hunter jumps guard but Leaf turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Don Leaf has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of DJ Hunter.
Hunter is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Leaf to keep the fight standing.
Hunter is trying to drag Leaf to the mat but Leaf just about manages to keep his footing. He used the cage to his advantage there.

We've been informed that Hunter has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Leaf's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Hunter shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
It looks like Hunter is going to stand back up.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Hunter connects with a nice short shot to Leaf's temple.
Hunter winds up and cracks Leaf with a swinging punch to the side of the head.
Hunter lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.
Hunter has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Leaf tries to get to full guard but Hunter has control of the leg.
Hunter lands with an elbow from half guard - that looked like it hurt.
Hunter is looking for an arm triangle, whilst trying to pass to side control. Leaf doesn't seem that keen to cooperate though. No luck this time Hunter.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hunter looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Hunter takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Leaf has hold of Hunter's hands but Hunter slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Leaf is defending against the submission attempts here by Hunter.
Hunter is looking for a kimura but he's never going to get it from there.

Hunter seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Hunter wants to stand up but Leaf has a hold of him and won't allow it.
Hunter is nestled in close to Leaf, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Leaf tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Hunter paws at him with a jab and circles away.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.
DJ Hunter showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's time! Leaf's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. This is the final round!

No joy there for Leaf, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Hunter has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Leaf has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!
