Cardenas's ring entrance music is that housewives' favourite, Young Jeezy: 24-23. Your Nightmare has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Danny Cardenas!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Your Nightmare!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Stewart Dunkirk and George Francis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Cardenas scores with a nice one two combo and darts back out of range to avoid anything coming in the opposite direction.
Cardenas throws a leg kick but he was too far away and it doesn't land.
Cardenas lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Nightmare circles away quickly and effectively.
Nightmare tries to clinch up but Cardenas circles away and keeps his distance.
Nightmare shoots in for a double leg but Cardenas sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Cardenas will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Cardenas throws a series of punches but Nightmare avoids them all with ease.
Cardenas misses with the combination.
Cardenas looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nightmare is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.
Nightmare shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.

No joy there for Cardenas, who threw a few shots but didn't land.

Nightmare closes the distance and clinches.
Cardenas gets underhooks to prevent Nightmare's takedown attempt.
Nightmare is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.

Cardenas changes levels and goes for a takedown here. Nightmare fights it off and pushes away nicely.
Cardenas misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Cardenas throws a right hand that Nightmare ducks under and follows up with a left that Nightmare also avoids with ease.
No luck for Nightmare with that takedown attempt.

Nightmare throws a head kick that misses.
Danny Cardenas seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Cardenas cracks Nightmare with an open hand slap.
Nightmare changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Cardenas tries to avoid it but Nightmare manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Cardenas to the ground. Cardenas escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Nightmare throws a series of punches but Cardenas moves out of range.
Cardenas misses with a series of wild punches.
Cardenas lands a jab.

Nightmare tries to control but Cardenas wriggling away.
Cardenas tries to hold on but Nightmare pushes him away.

Nightmare misses with a head shot.
Cardenas tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Nightmare looking to control but Cardenas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Nightmare looking to finish with strikes here!

Cardenas is looking to get back to his feet - it's going to be hard from this position.

That was a close round but I would say that Danny Cardenas will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Cardenas throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped

and Nightmare counters by moving into the clinch.

Nightmare pulls guard.

Nightmare has his foot on Cardenas's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Cardenas works his way back into a safe position though.
Nightmare has a closed guard, preventing Cardenas from standing up.
Nightmare lands a beautiful switch and he's in full mount! That could spell trouble for Cardenas!
Nightmare lands a shot to the body, followed up by a shot to the exposed head of his trapped opponent.

Cardenas is trying to stand up.
Cardenas might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Nightmare is breathing heavily.
BOOM! Nightmare connects with a massive shot to the dome!
Nightmare wants to control the pace but Cardenas is squirming around nicely.
Nightmare is in a good position here but he's just trying to control... And he's not even managing to do that successfully.
Cardenas is really trying hard to get back to his feet.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Cardenas knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Nightmare on the ground.
Nightmare wants to control the pace but Cardenas is squirming around nicely.
Cardenas avoids a series of strikes thrown by Nightmare.

Cardenas in a bad spot here, taking shots to the head.
Nightmare trying to control but Cardenas is having none of it.
Nightmare thowing strikes but they're hitting the gloves, not doing any damage.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Cardenas tries to lock up and control but Nightmare gives him a forearm to the face and pushes him away.

Nightmare stands up from mount. Strange move.
Cardenas throws a right hand that Nightmare ducks under and follows up with a left that Nightmare also avoids with ease.
Danny Cardenas is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Cardenas throws a head kick that misses
and Nightmare counters with a body kick that brings a smile to the face of both fighters.
Cardenas misses with a combination

and Nightmare counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
Nightmare trying to control the position from guard on top but Cardenas is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Cardenas avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Your Nightmare showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action! So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Nightmare will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.
Nightmare throws a sloppy head kick and Cardenas moves out of range easily.
Cardenas fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.

and Nightmare counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Nightmare.

Nightmare tries to close the distance and clinch but Cardenas swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Nightmare fails miserably with a takedown attempt.
Cardenas lands a jab.
Cardenas misses with a head kick.
Cardenas throws a right and a left that Nightmare avoids nicely.
Nightmare swinging wilding here.
Nightmare ducks right into an uppercut from Cardenas.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.

The crowd cheers as Cardenas lands an impressive looking overhand right. Nightmare doesn't seem phased though.
Cardenas throws a combination but it was largely blocked by Nightmare.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Nightmare pulls guard successfully.
Cardenas won't allow Nightmare to get back to his feet.
Cardenas is looking to stand up but Nightmare won't let him.
Cardenas won't allow Nightmare to sweep him here.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Nightmare utilising some decent striking defenses from the guard, preventing the ground and pound.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Cardenas throws a big right hand that misses.
Nightmare manages to land a sweep and now he's in mount on top!
Nightmare trying to control but Cardenas is having none of it.
Cardenas is trying desperately to improve position.

Nightmare content just to control the position here.
Nightmare looking to control but Cardenas is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Cardenas is in all sorts of trouble here.
Nightmare tries to control but Cardenas wriggling away.
Cardenas tries to hold on but Nightmare postures up.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

I would just about give that final round to Your Nightmare.
I think Nightmare has won this one but let's see whether the judges agree with me. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
